Advantage flea control kills fleas fast! Within 12 hours all your dog or cats fleas will be dead and any re-infesting fleas will die within 2 hours. Each tube contains the exact amount of flea killer needed to keep you pet flea free for a whole month. It is the most effective and safest flea control method we have found. Advantage is available for cats and kittens over eight weeks of age based on weight and for dogs and puppies over seven weeks of age based on weight. Two sizes are available for cats/kittens, Under 9lbs. & Over 9lbs. and four sizes for dogs and puppies, dogs/puppies to 10lbs ., dogs/ puppies 11 to 20lbs. , dogs/ puppies 21 to 55lbs. , and dogs over 55lbs.
Following application on the back of the neck topical solution spreads naturally on the skin surface at the hair follicle level. This movement is aided by body movement and ultimately covers the animals entire body. Advantage flea treatment causes the flea's nervous system to become impaired, and the flea dies. Advantage is highly water-resistant, so it continues to kill fleas even after a shampooing, swimming, rain or exposure to sunlight.
In fact, a controlled study showed dogs treated with Advantage, immersed in water and then re-infested with new fleas weekly for one month still had approximately 90 percent of their fleas killed at day 28. In another study, dogs were shampooed four days after treatment and then re-infested with fleas. Again at day 28 of the 30-day study, Advantage was still killing 92 percent of the fleas. For best results, clean and dry your pet before applying Advantage.
Advantage is so gentle it can be used on puppies as young as seven weeks and kittens as young as eight weeks. Advantage can also used on older cats and dogs. Simply "being geriatric" does not preclude the use of Advantage on a dog or cat.
